Mawson Lakes Model Yacht Club (MLMYC)
The Mawson Lakes Model Yacht Club (MLMYC) is a dedicated radio-controlled yacht club situated at Mawson Lakes in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.
The club is the largest radio-controlled yacht club in South Australia with 65 members and has a particular focus on keeping sailing fun and sociable. The clubhouse has an indoor seating area, toilets and storage areas for boat parts, the rescue boat and equipment. The lake has a floating platform for boat launching and an extensive network of permanently set buoys.
The RC Laser Class has a year-long racing and social program. Another class sailed at MLMYC, but not generally raced, is the ML45 – a boat designed and built exclusively by club members and sailed locally. The club also supports a variety of other RC sailing and electric motorboats, mostly built by club members.
