Well the weather has turned it on again …
Following in the footsteps of the NSW RC Laser State Titles, both C & D Rigs were the call for the day for the RC Laser Victorian State Titles 2018 . After an extended morning shower, 16 hardy sailors and one Princess (no names mentioned) were ready to go, just slightly after the scheduled 10 am kick off time. We rushed through the morning session expecting to be rained out or cancelled due to lightning in the afternoon and had 9 races completed by lunchtime. The weather held off and we completed 19 races and a great day was had by all.
The following were the main highlights:
- A record number of female Skippers. Well done to our 3 women, particularly in the tough conditions.
- A big thank you to skippers travelling from NSW, SA and country Vic (Portland).
- The Kit-Kat Award (when you need a break) went to Mario Gulic for calling out the finish places, however sighting the wrong finish line!
Patterson Lakes Radio Model Yacht Club (PLRMYC) did a fantastic job under the trying conditions, thanks to the able volunteers PRO – Frank Katers and assistants Mario Gulic, Tony Smith and Mike Pender – Well Done Guys.
